The project involved a great deal of unifying the existing elements with new areas that the client had asked for resulting in a design that plays with curves and straight lines, circles and squares on roughly 6 acres.
Many of the old plants were to be kept, mostly trees and shrubs, but also the rounded dry stone walls made of local stone.
The design of the New House was a core element of the master plan, making room for an Inner Courtyard, facing the garden towards the west and at the same time connecting and separating the two main buildings.
The new terraces where placed according to their best views of the landscape as well as their orientation, but also as far apart from each other as possible to allow for them to be used by different groups of people…
